ORIJEN Adult Dog Food - Biologically Appropriate for All Breeds

By nature, all dogs are facultative carnivores - they thrive on a varied diet of meats with smaller amounts of fruits, vegetables and grasses, and are biologically adapted to process proteins as an energy source.

High-protein and low-carbohydrate, ORIJEN ADULT's grain-free formula replicates the same rich balance of meats, fruits, vegetables and grasses that dogs would encounter in a wilderness setting.

Made with the highest inclusions of fresh grain-fed chicken meat, wild-caught northern whitefish and fresh whole eggs, ORIJEN is bursting with the protein-packed, veterinary-inspected meats (minimum 70%) that form a Biologically Appropriate diet,—and none of the grains or carbohydrates that are inappropriate for your dog.

Instead of grain, ORIJEN contains a full complement of regional fruits and vegetables (minimum 30%) that supply important natural antioxidants and phytochemicals.

Chicken, flax, sunflower, salmon and anchovy oils provide the essential fatty acids that dogs cannot produce themselves (including DHA and EPA) and are so important to nutritionally support the development of cell membranes, immune systems and a vibrant skin and hair coat.

Bridging the gap between good nutrition and total physical well-being, ORIJEN Adult contains native botanicals that include marshmallow, burdock and chicory root, stinging nettle and milk thistle,— all of which replicate the natural canine diet and help to soothe, nourish and tone the digestive tract, strengthen the liver and control insulin levels.

Check our ingredients and we think you’ll agree: Biologically Appropriate ORIJEN is a natural and delicious way to ensure the health and vitality of your Adult dog - no matter what his breed, age or size.

Best pet food we have ever purchased! We have rare breed "itchy" dogs. This is the first product that I can honestly say has made a huge difference. Their coats are obviously healthier too. We will NEVER go back to any other product!

i feed 2 young highly active dobermans one of which has a 'blue' coat. with this food. their coats are soft, shiny and thick and their overall condition is excellent. since one is a rescue dog of unknown background i can only attribute their condition to the orijen.

My babies love this food. I feed them once in the AM and in the PM I mix it with table scraps. They love it, as much if not more than the Planet Organics I was feeding them. I think I will keeo them on Orijen till they are burned out on it. I love the ingredients and want this if I were a dog. Lots of fruit and vegetables in this one!

Our labrador retriever has allergies and we have had problems finding dog food that does not create problems for him. Even some that were okay for him created more problems down the line with us when they changed their formulas or had recalls due to harmful ingredients getting in their food. His coat is as shiny as satin and he barely sheds on Orijen. So far, we are very pleased with Orijen.

This food has been great for my dog so far. I have previously been feeding her the Wellness Puppy formula and it was time for her to go to adult kibble and I read many great things about Orijen so I thought that I would try it. She really loves eating it and her stools have firmed (always inconsistent with Wellness) and she seems as happy and healthy as ever. Good food!

14. Toni on 10/10/2008, said:

the dogs are doing well on this food but not as well as dehydrated or raw. Stools are soft but their coats are beutiful - could likely be due to the salmon oil. I have given up on thinking I can can find any kibble that reallly meats whole nutritional needs. But this is a good one if it's all you can do.

Having 3 schanuzers, when the dog recall was out I did alot of research. I chose Orijen because of all the natural ingredients. The ratings were high. My oldest schnauzer was overweight and lazy. Within 6 months, the cross between Orijen and fresh vegatbles and fruit I mix with their food, the results were amazing. Jack is now at his proper weight, and playful like a puppy. The change has been significant and I would not use anything but. This is definatley the best food on the market!!

My Irish Terrier loves this food, and this is a first for him. We switched from Wellness, and he now eats his food with enthusiasm. Also, his flatulance and frequent vomiting has now ceased. Now, I really do believe that dogs do not need grains and the 70-30 ratio is perfect.

My Shepherd eats raw due to extreme stomach issues. This is the only dry kibble I can mix with raw that she enjoys and I can trust since it contains no grains to upset her belly. Thanks for a great Dry Kibble, Millie & Sage

This is a great product, but make sure to introduce it very slowly into your dog's diet. It took my dog about 10 days to get used to it and for his stool to get back to normal. You may want to add a bit of pumpking to help with the soft stool during the first week.

Since I'm slowly introducing this product to my dog I'm unable to determine how he likes it. I am mixing it half and half with his regular dry dog Flint River Ranch. I will however purchase another bag of Orijen unfortunitly the 10% discount coupon I received with the first order will expire before I'm ready to reorder another bag.

i own 2 american bulldogs ad i had multiple problems with really bad rashes, hot spots, and quarter sized luimps on my dogs bodies. when i started to feed them this food, their problems immediately started to go away. i would definately reccommend this product if your dogs have allergies to other foods. we even tried all the other products. the only other one that worked for a while was fromm duck and potato.

The results of changing my dogs' food to Orijen were apparent after just 1 week. Not only was the transition easy, but they are nuts over it! It is one of the best foods produced; having named meat products and no controversial fillers, by products, preservatives or any other nasties. Immediately after switching my 11 year old chow/shep mix and my 18 month old ridgeback/pit mix (both 68 lbs.) stopped throwing up! I was feeding Nutro before I "saw the light" (sorry pups!) and have converted a number of friends and family after researching dog food ingredients. You can not go wrong with the product. UPDATE 9/2008: I have been rotating with almost every other super premium dry food, and cannot get the same results with anything but Orijen.

THis is a great dog food. My dog lost about 16 pounds in under 2 months with this food(Vet says is healthy and normal) They do not eat as much since there are no fillers so a little goes a long way, I end up spending only slightly more than I did with grocery store brands. Also helped with our Dog's arthritis, whether from the weight loss or the ingredients I'm not sure, but she's much happier. This is the best price I have found as the free shipping compensates for the higher price here than other websites.

My 8-year old Newfie girl has done wonderfully well on this food. Her coat is extremely shiny! Not only that, but she has had two cruciate knee surgeries and with other foods, she'd suffer occasional limping. I believe the extra protein in this food helps support the muscles around her knees. No more limping.

I raise, breed and show Great Danes. No matter what breed I have had I have always fed RAW for over 10 years, but due to not being able to feed raw in the last 2 year I had to find a high quality dog food that was as close as possible to what I call Back to Nature. I researched and researched for over 6 months and I came across Orijen by accident. It took me over a month before I decided to give it a shot. Ever since I have switched I have noticed dramatic changes in my dogs. One of my girls had a lame shoulder due to an injury at 5 months. I use to run faster than her, now she is faster than me, plus she got what we call the zoomies now. I even feed this to my puppies. They are growing slowing and even. Their coat feels like a cat, eyes are bright, no doggie odor, more energy, little poops and the best is that they don't eat as much as you would if you fed a Grain Kibble. I know they are getting what they are needing. My 125lb eats 3 to 4 cups a day. I don't care what anyone says about high protein levels in Large or Giant Breeds, I believe it base on what type of protein and calcium/phosphorus intake is being fed. I love this product, I just hope it stay around for a long time. Wish I could give it 10 stars.

Hello, I have a dog that has epilepsy that started a couple of years ago. Her seizures started out to be every 2 to 3 months apart, but as time went by graduated to every 4 weeks like clockwork. I read that feeding a high protein diet with "no grains" for afflicted canines could improve this condition by lessening the severity of the seizures, legnthening the periods between seizures, and some dog owners have claimed that the change in diet cleared up the condition alltogether. I found your website and decided to try your Orijen Adult Dog Food to see if it would help our dog "Sandy". We have been feeding her your product alone since January of this year (2008) and I have seen great progress. It took a couple of months, but we have seen steady improvement! Periods between her seizures are getting longer and longer as time goes on and the severity has lessened as well. Afer 6 months on your product we are now at 12 weeks without a seizure! I read that it may take a few months to get the "grain" affects out of their system. By the way, we feed our other dog your product as well. They seem to love your product and gobble it right down! Thank you very much for providing this wonderful product that is improving the quality of life for our beloved canine friend "Sandy"! I will keep you posted on her continued improvement. Sincerely, Donna Donnelly Woodstock, GA

My German Shepard 'service dog' Onyx, started having severe diarreah and it continued for a few months with no other symptoms. I stopped giving him dog treats, and any table food, and it helped a little, but would return periodically. After reading what the ingredients are in most dog food, I was horrified!! I found this website and tried the Orijen, and after a couple of weeks the diarreah stopped. He's been eating Orijen now for a several weeks, and he really seems to like it. More importantly, Onyx acts like he feels better and his coat has never been so shiney. I am VERY happy! Thanks!

My dog was diagnosed with pancreatic insufficiency and can't handle grains and carbs and high fiber food. While this food is a bit higher in fat than recommended we tried it. She is doing beautifully on it and seems to be thriving! Thanks for the product- it is one less thing I have to worry about for her!

I have a 13 year old yellow lab who has been taking Rimadyl for pain. I have switched her over to the orijen as I am getting one of Wayne Simonovich's German Shepards and didn't want the dogs on different foods. I must say in just one month I have decreased her pain medication and hopefully will get her completely off. She is getting around with a little zip in her step. Thanks Sue Hajek

Wonderful food! I still like the 6 fresh fish version a little better - it makes my dogs' coats so shiny!

Excellent, my dogs love this food, it's not in the bowl for 5 minutes before it's gone. Their coats have really improved and they have more energy and have lost weight. Love it!

I thought Orijen was going to be so much more expensive, but not so. Both of my dogs never waste a bite and I don't have to give them as much, saving money in the long run. THEY LOVE IT!!!

I suppose that this is a very good food to give to our dogs but they just don't like it very much. Perhaps they are so used to mediocre food that they can't tell when they are getting "the good stuff". They do have a lot less gas than they did so perhaps it deserves a second chance :)

Open the bag, see & smell the freshness! Our 7 fussy dogs loved it from the word go. They also transitioned easily to it, no upset tummies during the switch over. We are so pleased to have the option of a diet as nature intended. We love K9cuisine for great selection, price & free delivery.

I feed this to my dog who has had a history of UTI's and bladder stones. I just started giving it to her in February. She gets a UA done every two months; this last one came back completely clean! Her coat looks much healthier as well and she seems happier overall!

My golden retriever, Murphy, has had some issues in the past with loose, mucusy stools and this food has completely cleared him up. He's doing so well on it and absolutely loves it!

I'm currently feeding 5 dogs this product. They range in age from 5 months to 7 years and they range in size from Cairn Terrier to Newfoundland. They are all muscular, lean, and have beautiful coats. I'm also feeding Orijen Cat to a Siamese rescue we took in last November. (They were feeding her Meow Mix) Her coat is no longer flaky and there is much less stool in the litter box:)

Our two labs love this product. Our girl has a very sensitive stomach and this food seems to be easily digestable for her. We can highly recommend it after trying several other products, this is our favorite.
