Large Breed Puppy Health - Dog Food - With a longer growth cycle and faster potential growth rate, your large breed puppy has a unique physical composition that creates special nutritional needs.
Controlled Bone Development Optimal skeletal development depends on appropriate amounts of calcium and phosphorus. We carefully control these mineral levels and then guarantee their accuracy on every bag - so you can be sure your puppy will grow strong bones at the right pace.
Paced, Steady Growth Rate With a potential growth up to 100 times their birth weight, a large breed puppy's energy intake must be regulated to ensure consistent, steady growth. That's why this special recipe controls calories with 20% less fat than Super5Mix Just for Puppy.
The Right Start to a Healthy Weight With more weight on larger frames, maintaining ideal body condition is a big concern. Since lean muscle is the foundation of healthy weight, this recipe has 26% protein with 4 quality animal protein sources to help develop strong, lean muscle.
DHA to Support Brain Development Smart and trainable, large breed dogs often grow up to lead and serve. To help support cognitive development vital to training, we use salmon meal and salmon oil to provide DHA, a fatty acid normally found in their mother's milk.
50% Longer Growth Cycle Some large breeds are considered puppies for up to 24 months so they need a healthy food that tastes great day after day. With satisfaction guaranteed, we use deboned chicken and whitefish to provide a natural taste that puppies love.

Transitioning to Wellness: It is important to slowly transition your puppy from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to the new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5-7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness by day 7.
How to Feed Your Puppy: As puppies grow up they need to learn when, where and how to eat. Depending on age, puppies need to be fed at the same time and in the same place 2 - 4 times per day. Food should be removed after 20 minutes, if not eaten. In the beginning, puppy's food can be moistened with a little warm water. It is very important that your puppy not overeat, as this can lead to skeletal development issues in large breeds.
Determining Feeding Portions: Looking at the chart below, divide the total cups per day by the total number of times you feed your puppy per day to determine the portion size for each meal. Keep a clean bowl of fresh water available at all times. Wellness believes in feeding dry and wet food in combination whenever possible to help increase the level of water in your puppy's diet.
Recommended Feeding Portions (Based on a standard 8 oz dry measuring cup)
Every dog is a little different, so optimal feeding amounts may vary with age, size and activity level. Please use the information below as an initial recommendation only and adjust when needed.

For Pregnant or Nursing Dogs: Since DHA is transferred to puppies in mother's milk, we recommend feeding this during pregnancy and nursing. During this time allow her to eat at will.
Combination Feeding If feeding with wet food, reduce dry amount by 1/3 cup for every 6 oz of wet food.
Nutrition is only one part of the equation! Be sure to give your puppy plenty of love, plenty of exercise and see your veterinarian regularly to help ensure total wellness.
We have a 10 month old German Shepherd puppy, MAJEK, who isn't much of a foodie, so what she eats has to have exceptional value. She seems to enjoy Wellness for Large Breeds more than some of the other premium brands she has had during food rotation every 3 months or so and food blends. She has one large meal of kibble/can and one smaller meal of raw/raw bones daily. She has maintained nice slow steady growth and is currently 62 pounds. We are expecting her to finish around 70 pounds and we expect to have her on a large breed puppy food for at least another year.

Meaty Natural Ribeye Bone - We make "No Bones About It"; we know bones and our bones are some of the best. Our FREE RANGE meaty, marrow-filled bones are from Brazilian cattle that are grass fed only resulting in lean meat and lower fat throughout. Typical beef bones need to be boiled and/or cooked at a high temperature which unfortunately can cause stress cracks in the bones and a more likely chance of splintering. Raw bones are popular but can quickly become rancid and bacteria laden. Our 100% natural, low-fat bones are slow roasted at a low temperature which is the happy medium and a perfect choice for your pet.

Watch your dogs with these bones there are hard pieces that will break off and cause choking. I ordered five of them in the six inch size for my pom's and thought these would be great when I had no marrow bones from our supermarket to give them. After five minutes of giving them to our little pack we had our smallest pom choking on a piece that we were able to move down her throat and wait for it to be delivered the other end. One of my older pom's came over while I was helping the first one and dropped a piece of bone and was asked to leave it (she is a two year old and trained to commands) Thank the angels for dogs because this was not something that would of been able to be moved if lodged in the throat. After the issue was resolved I contacted K9Cuisine . Customer service was outstanding! They sent a label to send the bones and the broken piece back. They have refunded my money and are contacting the company . I had a bad experiance with them so I will stock up on my own bones from the local super market. Please surpervise your dogs with these bones.

WolfCub Large Breed Puppy Food (bison) - New Formula! WolfCub Large Breed Puppy Formula contains lower amounts of protein, fat, calories, and calcium than Hundchen Flocken Puppy Food to help control the growth process. Research shows that a Calcium level of 1.5% or less is the most suitable for a large breed puppy.

Puppies usually begin eating solid food at 4-6 weeks of age. Food should be moistened with water, milk, or broth. Feed puppies three times a day until four months of age. Then feed two times a day thereafter. We recommend splitting the following daily amounts (cups) between two or three feedings. Transitioning to Wellness: It is important to slowly transition your dog from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to the new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5-7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness by day 7.
Determining Feeding Portions: Looking at the chart below, divide the total cups per day by the total number of times you feed your dog per day to determine the portion size for each meal. Keep a clean bowl of fresh water available at all times. Wellness believes in feeding dry and wet food in combination whenever possible to help increase the level of water in your dog's diet.
Nutrition is only one part of the equation! Be sure to give your dog plenty of love, plenty of exercise and see your veterinarian regularly to help ensure total wellness.
Recommended Feeding Portions (Based on a standard 8 oz dry measuring cup)
Every dog is a little different, so optimal feeding amounts may vary with age, size and activity level. Please use the information below as an initial recommendation only and adjust when needed.

Since my mini poodle is very allergic to chicken, eggs, dairy, and beef, I use canned Evanger game meats to supply the protein and fat component of her diet.
It sounds like an entrée at a fine restaurant, fresh trout and delicious sweet potatoes. But these are also a fine and delicious source of nutrition and that makes Pinnacle an excellent choice for active puppies and adult dogs. Good nutrition is about variety, and the variety of protein sources in Pinnacle —the trout, the potatoes, plus oatmeal and the organic grain quinoa— means all essential amino acids are here. It also means that complex carbohydrates, essential for energy, come from a variety of sources as well.

We could not be happier with this Pinnacle Holistic food! We didn't realize our yellow lab had a sensitive stomach until we switched him to this food and immediately noticed the absence of nightly dog farts. We hadn't given any thought to the fact that his food was causing the gas issue but now that the problem is solved, we wish we had realized it sooner!

I wanted to try oatmeal again with my Boston whom I have had on no grain
dog food for awhile. I wanted to see if
she would have problems with oatmeal.
I was pleasantly surprised. And I was even more surprised by the excellent service of K-9. I will continue to order from you in the future!!!!
