The nutrient levels of this food are appropriate for adult dogs over 1 year. We do not recommend feeding this formula to puppies as they have special nutritional requirements during their growth stage. Please try our Wellness Puppy Food to meet these unique needs.
How to Feed CORE:
CORE is highly palatable, so your dog may tend to eat more of this food.
Watch initially to see if you need to adjust regular eating patterns. Please give your dog access to clean, cool fresh water at all times.
It is important to slowly transition your dog from his/her current diet as it takes awhile for the body to adapt to the new nutrient levels. MY SHIPOO DIDN'T LIKE THIS FOOD THAT MUCH. WHEN I PUT THE WELLNESS FISH WET FOOD ON TOP WOULDN'T HARDLY TOUCH IT. BUT THE CAT LOVED IT. I THINK HE JUST DOESN'T LIKE FISH. BUT WHEN I PUT DUCK,CHICKEN OR ANY OTHER WET FOOD BY WELLNESS OTHER THAN FISH HE EATS IT. HE WILL EAT IT BY ITSELF OK BUT KINDA PICKS AT UNTIL HE KNOWS HE NOT GETTING SOMETHING ELSE. SO MAKE SURE YOU DOG LIKES FISH BEFORE YOU BUY THIS. IT PROBABLY IS A GOOD DOG FOOD FOR DOGS WHO LIKE FISH AND IS NOT PICKY.HE PREFERS THE SMALL BREED FORMULA BY WELLNESS ALOT MORE THAN THIS -WHICH IS A LOT CHEAPER THAN THIS.

I have been feeding my 14 month old Pyrenees a blend of Fromm Surf & Turf supplemented with fresh organic ground beef or chicken since they were 3 months old. I was very concerned about maintaining a slow steady growth rate in my pups and these feeds have worked beautifully. I have recently added Viva La Venison to their diet in conjunction with the Surf & Turf and organic fresh meats. They love this and are adapting well. Great coats, no allergies, no bloat or stomach problems and they are healthy, satisfied and continuing on their controlled steady growth.

Excellent quality. Both my dogs gobbled it up. This product was recently rated the low glycemic award for the best dog food. Measure by weight to be sure it's euqivalent to measure of previous food or you will notice blood sugar is up in diabetic pet. You actually may get more food per measured cup due to small pellet size. Only con is I'd prefer less or no glucosamine supplement in ingredients.

My dog is your typical dog - she will eat anything, anytime, anywhere. We had her on a store brand for a while which she always gobbled up, but after extensive research we switched to this about 6 months ago. She loves it SO much that if we ever try to substitute anything else for it (like if we're bad parents and have forgotten to order another bag before we run out) she will not eat! This is from a dog who historically has no problems eating anything edible so it just speaks volumes on how excellent this food is and the caliber of quality it delivers. We introduced it slowly (mixed with her previous food for about a week) and at first she had a little gas, which is natural, but it's helped immensely with her breath, given her even MORE energy (she is 9 but still acts like a puppy!) and also made her poo more solid which makes it easier to pick up. It's a little pricey, but one 30 lb bag typically lasts us about 2 months (1 feeding/day) and shipping is free! I would recommend in it a heartbeat!

The food is nice and organic, but my dog hate it. She didn't like the smell of it and wouldn't even try to eat it. I wish she did though. Someone at K9 told me that I can send this back, because they have satisfaction guarantee. However, the person never scheduled a pick up for me. The dog food is still sitting at home. Sigh.

I have been feeding my dog 8 years old on this food for the past 6 months, he has sensitive stomach and very peaky eater. Since I found this food, he did great, good coat, less itchy, and good poops and he loves it.

It's very difficult to find a no-grain, fairly low protein dog food that the dogs will like but it looks like I found one. Thanks.

I am very pleased with this product; all of the dogs like the food, and the transition from my previous food to this went very smooth
Before Grain is a return to your dog’s ancestral diet while recognizing it’s modern day urban lifestyle. It contains meat protein sources, healthy fruits, and vegetables - no grains, fillers, by products, artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Complete with a 32% baseline that is a practical and balanced percentage for the everyday diet that is more optimally processed by sensitive internal organs such as the kidneys. Contains about 38% meat after cooking removes most of the water content.
How much food your dog eats each day is dependent upon size, level of activity, stage of reproduction, and environment. When feeding in measured amounts, feed according to the weight of your dog.
I put my 4 year old boxer on this food after she gained weight on another brand ( it was very high protein and high fat). This dog runs with me approximately 25 miles per week, so she needs quality nutrition. The Before Grain meets her nutritional needs while allowing her to maintain a more healthy weight. And best of all- she loves it!

I am feeding three boxers and they do seem to enjoy this food. I wish though that it did not have Chicken in it....chicken is very high on the allergy scale. I am pleased though that there is no grain.
The packaging is great...a zipper!!! Kudos to the brain who pushed the idea through to management.

Both of my labs, 1 and 11, responded very well and seem to love the food. Stools are good also. Has a nice balance of ingredients.

My dogs absolutely LOVE this food. One of my dogs is an English Pointer who is a little finicky and always looks like she's on a starvation diet because she's so skinny. But I've finally been able to put a little weight on her with this food. She's solid muscle and runs for hours and hours!

I have a Great Dane puppy and an English Bulldog puppy on this food and they both are doing wonderful on the food. I like the fact that it is grain free, but the protein levels are not too high for large breed dogs. They love the taste and their stools have been firm since the first feeding.

We have 3 rescued Italian Greyhounds that we love very much. One of our dogs has suffered with grand mal seizures since we rescued him. I knew his food should not contain by-products, but only recently found out that grain can also be a problem.
Once we put our dogs on Now! our Fresco has not had a single seizure. Thank you so much for producing a healthy dog food that all three of our dogs LOVE! You definitely have new customers in us!
