Transitioning to Wellness: It is important to slowly transition your dog from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to the new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5-7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness by day 7.
Determining Feeding Portions: Looking at the chart below, divide the total cups per day by the total number of times you feed your dog per day to determine the portion size for each meal. Keep a clean bowl of fresh water available at all times. Wellness believes in feeding dry and wet food in combination whenever possible to help increase the level of water in your dog's diet.
Nutrition is only one part of the equation! Be sure to give your dog plenty of love, plenty of exercise and see your veterinarian regularly to help ensure total wellness.

I've only been feeding it to my miniature Schnauzer for a short while, so I don't know how it will do long-term. She eats it, but acts like she is still hungry. Runs to my little toy dog's bowl to see if there's anything left! (No luck--the little one scarfs it all down....) I wish this formula had more protein and less grain. The food she was eating before I put her on this one had 28% protein, so I wonder if she's getting enough now with just 17%.

We are very happy with the Wellness brand. We adopted an overweight dog, and had her on the weight management formula until she was at a good weight, then switched to the small breed formula.

The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because one of my dogs doesn't like it. He likes Origin Adult but for some reason doesn't like the Legacy Adult which in some cases seems better to me.

This is the best dog food that I have ever fed to my 2 Rotties and 1 Lab. I feed mostly raw, fresh and this is my supporting, quick component to their diet.
My o lder (10 1/2 yr) rottie has never had so much energy - you hit the mark with this one! I also feed the Puppy version of Horizon - slightly higher protein - a great addition to our program. All coats are fantastic. Thanks!

The date of manufacture is printed on all packages. The containers should be closed tightly between meals. We recommend thoroughly cleaning and drying our re-usable buckets, prior to refilling.
I mix this with Embark and Force so I don't really know how much the dogs like it by itself. I like the ingredients.

I try to be very well informed regarding dog food ingredients, i'm a pet groomer and boarding kennel owner and often discuss pet foods with clients.
This is the best product i've found for our 2 dachshunds and small poodle, no one has itchy skin anymore. Not even the Chinese Crested.
Very convenient to use, it smells wonderful.

This food has good ingrediants and my dog seems to really like it. She liked it so much I had to hide it because she was trying to chew thru it to eat more , however I only gave it 4 stars because it has menadione bisulfate in it which I did not realize when I bought it. I will still purchase once in a while but won't feed it to her all the time.
