Active Care - Healthy Joint Formula - Lamb Meal and Brown Rice - Dry Dog Food
What makes the Active Care Lamb & Brown Rice different is natural chicken cartilage and our patented method of obtaining it. Many dog foods have taken an easy leap onto the healthy joint bandwagon by adding varying amounts of synthetic forms of chondroitin and glucosamine then claiming to promote good joint health. Natural chicken cartilage provides the all-important GAGs in an all natural stable form so there are no chemical side effects. With natural chicken cartilage, Active Care was specifically created to maintain good joint health.

I have been feeding this to my GSD/Shepherd/Chow mix for 5 years, he was diagnosed with severe hip displasia and arthritis when he was 2. Between this food and supplements he is doing better than even the vet could imagine. It is great because it is appropriate for puppies to eat as well, so there has been no problem with having to get different foods when we got a new puppy last year. They both love it and it's great for them too!

I bought this food for my dog who has joint problems with one of her back legs due to chasing frisbees. So far I haven't noticed a difference with it helping. Maybe I just haven't had her on it long enough to start working so I'm going to keep her on the food since she really likes it.

MY SHIPOO DIDN'T LIKE THIS FOOD THAT MUCH. WHEN I PUT THE WELLNESS FISH WET FOOD ON TOP WOULDN'T HARDLY TOUCH IT. BUT THE CAT LOVED IT. I THINK HE JUST DOESN'T LIKE FISH. BUT WHEN I PUT DUCK,CHICKEN OR ANY OTHER WET FOOD BY WELLNESS OTHER THAN FISH HE EATS IT. HE WILL EAT IT BY ITSELF OK BUT KINDA PICKS AT UNTIL HE KNOWS HE NOT GETTING SOMETHING ELSE. Large Breed Puppy Health - Dog Food - With a longer growth cycle and faster potential growth rate, your large breed puppy has a unique physical composition that creates special nutritional needs.
Controlled Bone Development Optimal skeletal development depends on appropriate amounts of calcium and phosphorus. We carefully control these mineral levels and then guarantee their accuracy on every bag - so you can be sure your puppy will grow strong bones at the right pace.
Paced, Steady Growth Rate With a potential growth up to 100 times their birth weight, a large breed puppy's energy intake must be regulated to ensure consistent, steady growth. That's why this special recipe controls calories with 20% less fat than Super5Mix Just for Puppy.
The Right Start to a Healthy Weight With more weight on larger frames, maintaining ideal body condition is a big concern. Since lean muscle is the foundation of healthy weight, this recipe has 26% protein with 4 quality animal protein sources to help develop strong, lean muscle.
DHA to Support Brain Development Smart and trainable, large breed dogs often grow up to lead and serve. To help support cognitive development vital to training, we use salmon meal and salmon oil to provide DHA, a fatty acid normally found in their mother's milk.
50% Longer Growth Cycle Some large breeds are considered puppies for up to 24 months so they need a healthy food that tastes great day after day. With satisfaction guaranteed, we use deboned chicken and whitefish to provide a natural taste that puppies love.

How to Feed Your Puppy: As puppies grow up they need to learn when, where and how to eat. Depending on age, puppies need to be fed at the same time and in the same place 2 - 4 times per day. Food should be removed after 20 minutes, if not eaten. In the beginning, puppy's food can be moistened with a little warm water. It is very important that your puppy not overeat, as this can lead to skeletal development issues in large breeds.
Determining Feeding Portions: Looking at the chart below, divide the total cups per day by the total number of times you feed your puppy per day to determine the portion size for each meal. Keep a clean bowl of fresh water available at all times. Wellness believes in feeding dry and wet food in combination whenever possible to help increase the level of water in your puppy's diet.

She seems to enjoy Wellness for Large Breeds more than some of the other premium brands she has had during food rotation every 3 months or so and food blends. She has one large meal of kibble/can and one smaller meal of raw/raw bones daily. She has maintained nice slow steady growth and is currently 62 pounds. We are expecting her to finish around 70 pounds and we expect to have her on a large breed puppy food for at least another year.

My Golden puppy does very well on this food. His skin is perfect and his stools are small and well formed. He loves the food so much, I can even use it as training treats.

She likes it but sometimes she won't eat it all or just wait until she realizes she doesn't have any other option. I might try something different. Still going to test this a little longer.

This is great cat food. One of my cats has terrible skin allergies and he scratches his skin until he bleeds. I've been trying for years to figure out what he's allergic to but nothing worked. I tried this food and within about a week, his skin cleared up completely. And, not surprisingly, his disposition is much better too!

I especially chose this food for my pet because there was no chicken meal. I stay away from any type of "meal" other than fish.
The cats seem to like Wellnes, but I won't really know for a few weeks. That's the only reason I rated it 4 instead of 5.

Our cat seems to like this food. My theory is that the high protein content means she needs to eat less and therefore poop less. I haven't collected any data yet, so I can't prove it.
Healthy Weight - Cat Food - Healthy Weight is a well-rounded, solution-focused diet of meats, grains and fruits for cats with a more sedentary lifestyle. We have focused on the nutrition that overweight cats need to remain healthy with less caloric intake. These cats tend to gain weight (lifestyle is more sedentary), experience hip and joint problems (from carrying excessive weight or aging), and tend to eat more (because they do not feel full). With this in mind, we have focused on lifestyle specific nutrition for healthy and happy weight-challenged cats.

Indoor Health - Cat Food - Indoor Health is a well-rounded, solution-focused diet of meats, grains and fruits for cats that live indoors. These cats tend to gain weight (lifestyle is more sedentary), experience dry skin (from continued exposure to indoor air and heat), and have increased hairballs (from constant grooming and hair loss from dry skin).
All of these issues seem worse to their respective owners who interact much more with their indoor cat including a close watch of litterbox use or more lap time. With this in mind, we have focused on lifestyle specific nutrition for healthy and happy indoor cats and their owners.

Adult Cat and Kitten Food - Wellness has redefined the world of grain-free cat food! We have developed a 50% protein diet with the most meat possible in a dry cat food while still controlling fat and mineral levels!
The essence of the raw feeding philosophy is nutrient-rich, high-quality meat – and lots of it. That’s the same philosophy behind Wellness CORE. But that’s not all. This unique, grain-free formula also supports and nurtures your cat’s inside… their essence… their Core.
Since feline health requires a delicately balanced nutritional equation, we must consider that adding the most meat possible in a dry cat food will have an effect on fat, mineral and calorie levels. So to create a protein-focused diet the Wellness Way, we carefully control the quality and quantity of the ingredients we use, and pay close attention to the individual properties of each inclusion. From source to bowl, we make no exceptions!

Transitioning to Wellness: It is important to slowly transition your dog from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to the new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5-7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness by day 7.
Determining Feeding Portions: Looking at the chart below, divide the total cups per day by the total number of times you feed your dog per day to determine the portion size for each meal. Keep a clean bowl of fresh water available at all times. Wellness believes in feeding dry and wet food in combination whenever possible to help increase the level of water in your dog's diet.
Nutrition is only one part of the equation! Be sure to give your dog plenty of love, plenty of exercise and see your veterinarian regularly to help ensure total wellness.
