Philosophy Nature's Variety believes many commercially available diets targeted at life stages or special needs (e.g., puppy, senior, large breed, weight control) are in effect formulation corrections designed to overcome nutritional deficiencies inherent in largely grain based diets. These nutritional deficiencies arise from least-cost manufacturing practices that utilize large amounts of low cost grain by-products such as glutens. Glutens are generally included in kibble diets as a low cost option to increase the protein content of the food without adding more meat. I like that this recipe includes tapioca, as it is great for dogs with sensitivities. However, the fat content is too high and it makes their stool very oily. I mix it 50/50 with another lower fat grain-free dry food, or with addiction's dehydrated food.

My dog is a diabetic ...so his food choices are extremely limited...Rabbit or Venison , low calorie and low fat.This food fits the bill...his sugar is stable and he is thriving.

I've found that this is one wet food that both of my 9 year old Chihuahuas will eat without coaxing. I mainly feed them the venison and lamb versions. They digest it easily and it doesn't seem to cause them to put on weight.

Came back to Nature's variety after trying Bil Jac a couple of months. Had to change because the Bil Jack smelled bad. Wilson chomped on this as if he eaten in days...he has..and it does not stink!

Hard to judge truly as I bought a case that was almost out of date on clearance. All cans had a lot of broth - too much. My dogs don't like their food soupy. But I will try this with new product because they liked it alot after I poured the half can of broth out.

REALLY fast shipping! impressed! but it didn't seem to work for my Pug's allergies. I can tell it's high quality food! but didn't work for us.

High quality food and they like it but my one complaint is that it's a very dry, compact canned food. I mix kibble with canned and with this one I have to add some water to mix it. It's not their favorite but only one refuses to eat it. Their favorite is Evo Duck and Beef.

I use this to feed my exotic cats as its the same as cat food ingredients wise though I do notice there is more liquid in the dog food than the cat food. My cats seem to like the cat food better though I know there isnt supposed to be a difference and since it only comes in smaller cans I buy the dog food. The lamb is what my nursing queens seem to like best at this time though they are finicky.

I was surprised at the amount of liquid and the food was really separated from the liquid. It's a high quality food but not sure I'll order it again as I didn't care for the consistancy.
