My cat is Diabetic. The first vet I saw put her on a prescription diet food with 50% protein. For 6 months she didn't get any better. I change vets. Then new vet pointed out that the first and 5th ingredients in the M/D food where corn meal and corn. The worst thing to give a Diabetic. He said the way the M/D got to 50% protien was with soy. Which some animals can't absorb. The new vet put her on a meat and Low glycemic index veggies,(with no grains ). That diet that include Evo, with it's 50% protein coming from meat. She glucose number start improving right away. In 4 months she was OFF the insulin. She has continued to had perfect glucose number for 3 year. This is purest, healthest food on the market. This is a great dog food... my big dog is not as fond of it as my small dog is of the little bites but he is thriving on it, has silky coat and eats less to be satisfied.

The cat liked the taste, but then started getting diarrhea really bad. The reason we bought this is because it is grain free and the cat needs a grain free diet or else she had digestion troubles. So, it didn't work for the reason we went with grain free.

Good food at a great price. Some cats really liked this and some didn't. The ones who eat Holistic Select did not like this food. They seem to prefer food with fish. My dogs, on the other hand, thought this was great. On who has cardiomyopathy who would only eat raw meat would eat this food.

I have 2 aussies, one is 13 and is getting near the end. Vet suggested this canned food with the thought that turkey+chicken both easy to digest. But alas, as much as the poor old fellow loves it he gets diarrhea after eating it. The younger aussie, aged 6 , thinks it's wonderful. But then he's never found a food he doesn't like. I think the quality is good but there is a lot of fat on the top of the can when first opened. Good for most dogs coats but may be the reason that the older dog can't handle this food well. Evo is a fine product so this rating does not reflect on the food but might be a consideration for another with an older dog. And as always service here is 'the best'.

This food was very dry and smelly. Although I'm sure the quality is there, the dogs did not care for it nearly as much as they like the beef flavor. I'll stick with the beef in future as both large and small dog love it, it has a better consistency with little odor.

My dog loves duck flavored food and this was no exception! She loves it and the consistency is perfect. It has some "broth" but not too much so it's easy to mix with dry.

I switched all 3 of my cats to this food after my little one got crystals in his urine....the vet wanted to put him on science diet for bladder health but the ingredients in that food were byproducts and grain....after a bit of research Evo was selected based on the low amounts of some minerals that are attributed to crystal formation (similar to the % in the science diet) but much better ingredients formula. My cats love it.

This one seemed to be the best. Cats went crazy over the duck and came back for seconds and thirds as soon as box came. Now keep in mind I have 9 cats. Even the kitten who has a nuerologic problem went nuts over it. I liked the fact that's its more watery. It made it easy for him to eat since she trembles and shakes. Funny thing is I wrote a good rating for Holistic Select Chicken hard food for cats. After they had the Evo for the first time. They all stopped eating the Holistic Select which they use to love. So had to switch them to Evo hard food now along with evo canned food. The Chicken Evo does not seem to be liked as much as duck. Plus its more pastey.
