Since 1904, The Fromm Family has maintained a tradition of quiet innovation dedicated to the health and nutrition of animals. In the 1930's, The Fromm Family introduced the first canine distemper vaccine. In 1949, they introduced the concept of premium pet food to the public. As the country's first and oldest premium pet food company, they have earned the reputation as an industry leader, producing only the highest grade pet foods with the finest natural ingredients.
Based in Wisconsin, Fromm Family Foods is now in its fourth generation of being family owned and operated. They take great pride in this family commitment, as it ensures that their customers will continue to receive superior pet food products now and for years to come.
For more than four generations, the Fromm family has brought together veterinarians, biochemists, research specialists and food production engineers to formulate their pet foods.
In 1948, the late Dr. Willard Roberts, Ph.D. and chief nutritionist created the first generation of Fromm Family Nutritionals pet foods. Dr. Roberts is recognized as the father of modern pet foods, having pioneered the process of producing the dry, granular food that's so popular today.
Since then, they have continued to improve upon each Fromm Nutritionals recipe, while maintaining certain traditions. For example, their Classic Nutritionals line is still based on the "four-grain principle", and uses 17 different ingredients.
This concentrated, balanced blend of foods results in easier digestion, fewer allergic reactions, and increased energy for your dog or cat.

High-quality ingredients and a very nutritious food with added probiotics. Smallish kibble, but I always add water and canned food to their meals anyway, so this isn't an issue for my large boxers. My main concern is buying a quality food that my dogs will eat that has NEVER HAD A RECALL, and I feel safe giving them the Fromm food :)

I truly appreciate having another grain-free kibble choice on the market. Add to that the fact that Fromm has a very good reputation for keeping their kibble recall-free and I was ready to try it for my border collies. Two things which had noting to do with the quality of the food will keep me from buying this product again:
1. the kibble size is so small my dogs did not chew it but swallowed it whole (yes, they threw it back up intact).
2. their poop became softer and smellier than before. Yes, I introduced the food slowly over the course of a week to avoid stomach upset. After full intro week, their poop remained looser than I would like and smellier than I would like. I attribute this to the higher fat content of this food, 3% more fat than their previous brand.
I will be returning to my previous choice for grain-free kibble but hold no ill thoughts towards Fromm, it was simply a case of this food not working for my particular dogs.

We have 2 adult German Shepherds and they love Fromm's Large Breed Adult Gold.
I've always heard/ read good things about Fromm's Gold and wanted to try it, but unfortunately it's not readily available in our area. Our previous food brand was recently recalled, so we decided to give both Fromm & K-9 Cuisine a try.
We were extremely pleased with the service. Used standard shipping (which was free w/ large bag) and received the food nicely boxed on our doorstep in two days. Got a free food scoop, logo magnet and coupon for 10% off our next order!
Our dogs are doing great on it. Their coats and teeth are healthy and they have plenty of energy. Not to sound weird, but the food smells great. It's like you can actually smell the cheddar cheese and other wholesome ingredients. No chemical or unnatural smell like some other foods.
Thanks to K9 Cuisine for terrific service and to Fromm's for a terrific food!

Love Fromm Family Foods, and love this 'flavor'. My Golden is allergic to most grains. He's also allergic to chicken and beef. We did a raw diet until we discovered he was allergic to chicken and beef. We couldn't afford to feed him raw, non-typical proteins. This is a FABOULUS kibble, and my dog is thriving. We also love the Fromm Pork and Applesauce flavor, but Salmon A La Veg is much better. Please don't stop selling it!

The only small drawback is that I have two dogs ( 1-20lb and 1-85lb); the bites are a little small for the large dog, just right for the small one.
I'm waiting for Fromm to develop a grain-free pork and applesauce--hint, hint.
